MossAway is available in either copper or zinc – both minerals that repel moss. Every time it rains or snows, the strips will release one of the two minerals. This prevents moss from getting a grip on new roofs, while it slowly but surely slides off existing roofs.
The runoff is microscopic and not harmful to the environment.
MossAway is ideal for new roofs since the strips prevent moss from taking root. On an existing roof it will take between one and three years before all the moss has disappeared. The exact time depends on the roof pitch, amount of precipitation and moss, type of roof coverings etc.
The result is permanent.
Copper can corrode roofing sheets and aluminium roofs if the surface is damaged. If you have this kind of roof, you should opt for zinc strips instead. Copper strips look best on red, brown and black roofs as copper often acquires a brownish-black patina over time.
MossAway is suitable for all types of roofs and is easy to fit. All you need are the strips, glue or screws and a few hours to spare.
The runoff is microscopic and is not harmful to the environment. The drainage will also not reduce the water quality, which is still well within acceptable levels. Tested by Sintef Molab in December 2019
